Eamonn provides strategic and specialist tax advice to corporate and high net worth Individual clients covering most areas of UK tax. He has been responsible for overseeing and advising on the tax implications of numerous very large and complex commercial transactions and has advised some of Northern Irelands’ wealthiest individuals and their corporate groups.

Eamonn specialises in corporate mergers and acquisitions and has advised numerous shareholders on the sale of their companies. He has significant experience in corporate restructuring, debt refinancing, merger and acquisition activities as well as financial and tax due diligence.

He also has deep experience in the property sector and advises several of the largest property development and investment companies in Northern Ireland, many of whom had extensive business operations in Great Britain. Eamonn has detailed knowledge and experience in all property taxes including capital allowances, SDLT, VAT and corporation tax.

Eamonn was a partner in KPMG Ireland for over 15 years and the Head of Tax at KPMG Belfast for 12 years. In 2016 he set up Bona Fide Consultancy to provide strategic and specialist tax advice to clients and in 2018 this practice merged with the HNH Group. Eamonn is Fellow in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and graduate of Queens University Belfast.

OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

For over a decade Eamonn headed up the campaign for the devolution of corporation tax varying powers to the Northern Ireland Assembly as a means of stimulating the economy in Northern Ireland The UK Government agreed to the devolution of corporation tax varying powers to the NI assembly in 2015 and a rate of 12.5% is expected to be introduced in the near future. Eamonn has served as the Chairman of the Chartered Accountants in Ireland Tax committee and is a past chairman of the NI Branch of the Chartered Institute of Tax. He was Chairman of the Welcome Organisation, which is a homeless charity in Belfast and was instrumental in delivering its new Day Care Centre in 2013 to help the needs of some of Belfast’s most neglected and underprivileged citizens.

Eamonn is currently on the Board of Governors of St Malachy’s college and the Chair of the Finance Committee. He is the chairman of the St Gerard’s Parish finance committee and a member of St Vincent de Paul visiting those in need and visiting students at Hydebank Wood College. When not working, Eamonn like to cycle, golf, play basketball and walk. In 2018 he completed the Camino de Santiago an 800km walk across the North of Spain.
